What is the course about?

This is a mixed ability course that is suitable for students at different stages of their development, We will cater for those who would like to sample and explore a wide range of drawing and painting techniques and those with more experience who wish to hone any existing skills through both representational and abstract exercises using both wet and dry materials in a variety of techniques, such as pencil, pastel, charcoal, crayons, and water based paints. You will develop and sharpen your observational drawing, using line, shading and texture; perspective and composition and work with colour and painting through colour theory and mixed media. techniques. Through Still life, Photographs, landscape and figures you will have the opportunity to develop your own personal style and interests

What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?

As the title suggests, this course that is aimed at both complete beginners and those with previous experience who want to continue and build upon their skills and vision, where everyone is welcome to work in a sociable supportive group environment.

What do I need to bring with me?

Bring along any art materials you already have or would like to learn to use, we also have a box of general materials as back up. Your tutor will give you plenty of support and advice as to which materials you might like to explore on the course. A pencil, cartridge paper and eraser would do for week 1

Are there any additional costs?

Additional costs for this course will be drawing and painting materials as required by the individual student.
