We are specifically recruiting for a ‘History: The Great War” course lasting 5 – 6 weeks, with the possibility of a further 12 weeks course for more experienced students following this.

We are looking for Arts & Crafts Tutors specialising in a variety of subjects across West Sussex to join our Curriculum team to deliver sessional courses to adults (19 years plus). We are currently looking for Tutors to run a variety of one day taster sessions at our July Arts week 2018 (14th July – 21st July 2018). Following these sessions there may be opportunities to run further courses from September 2018 onwards:

  • Calligraphy

  • Upholstery
  • We are looking to recruit an experienced Upholstery Tutor based in Bognor, Chichester or Midhurst. Applicants must have a level 4 subject specific qualification along with previous teaching experience or professional practice.

  • Willow and Rural Crafts
  • We are looking for experienced Willow, Wicker & Rural Crafts Tutors for courses in Burgess Hill, Horsham and Chichester, to teach a variety of Saturday workshops, including Festive Wreath Making, Basketry and Willow Sculpture.     Building Better Opportunities is an exciting collaboration that aims to meet the needs for families living in West Sussex, who remain the most excluded from the workforce. This project embeds the Supported Employment Model within all its practice and all partners have signed up to this vision. The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with all the Building Better Opportunities practitioners and promote a one project approach while still maintaining the expectation of Aspire Sussex Ltd.

    The successful candidate will manage and assure our community that their ideas, concerns and expectations are being heard and responded to effectively to support the quality improvement process and maintain high standards of customer excellence.     Aspire Sussex Ltd is a charity which has been providing adult and community education in – and beyond – West Sussex since 2012. We wish to appoint new trustees to our Board and would be particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals who have a Marketing, Finance or Law background and who are passionate about education.

    Board and sub-committee meetings are usually held in Burgess Hill. The time commitment needed is around 50 hours per year, which includes attending about 12 meetings per year.

    Please note that trustees are unpaid, although expenses – such as travel to meetings – are reimbursed.

    As a volunteer you will support students, either individually or in small groups, who want to improve their skills for work, for everyday life or to help their children at school. You will be working under the guidance of a qualified tutor at all times; we offer all our volunteer’s full training to support them in their role, as well as the opportunity to undertake a course with Aspire.
