The course covers the following practical units. Manicure, pedicure, facial skincare, eye treatments, waxing and make-up. There are also supporting theory units of health and safety, working in the beauty industry, reception and anatomy and physiology. This course is professional standard level 2 qualification enabling students to go into the beauty industry after obtaining the qualification. This qualification aims to introduce learners to the use of counselling skills in everyday life and work, and some of the approaches that underpin the use of these skills.
This qualification gives learners the opportunity to investigate the knowledge and skills needed to use counselling skills and engage in a helping interaction appropriately.
This qualification does not qualify learners to practise as a counsellor.
To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, learners are required to successfully complete 4 mandatory units:
• Unit 01 Using counselling skills
• Unit 02 Introduction to counselling skills theories
• Unit 03 Diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills
• Unit 04 Counselling skills and personal development
The course is for students who want to work as teachers/trainers in the Further Education and Skills sector. It is a Level 3 qualification. The course includes the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality and diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners. You can expect to learn how to plan and deliver sessions, using appropriate resources and teaching methods. The aim of this course is to build a creative awareness and enjoyment of photography using camera functions and experimentation. We will look at different genres of photography for inspiration and learn from the masters. The course will undertake small projects, encouraging students to look at the world differently with their cameras and to be as creative as possible with the medium.
