The aim of the course is to introduce you to the language and develop your communication skills in basic, practical situations. It is for beginners who intend to use the language on holiday and would like to take their first steps in learning and speaking Spanish.
The emphasis of this course will be on speaking and listening. You will learn key phrases and vocabulary in Spanish that are essential for day-to-day survival in Spanish-speaking countries. Topics could include: introducing yourself and other people, giving personal information, ordering food and drink, shopping and asking for/giving directions
Make a stunning summer skirt. In the five two-hour sessions, working as a group, each learner will select one style from three basic skirt shapes; fitted, A line or flared. We will cover aspects of fabric knowledge, applying interlining, how to neaten seams, insert a concealed zip, attach a waistband and finish the hem.FIND OUT MORE
You will be introduced to the basics of Ukulele. Playing using just a few chords and different strumming & finger style patterns to play along to a variety of songs.
You will be taught as part of a whole group with the use of Music Sheets, backing tracks & a Projector. We usually round up the last 15 minutes of the evening with a jamming session!
In this introductory course, you will be able to sample and explore a wide range of drawing and painting techniques, whilst developing representational skills or creating abstracts.
We will focus on both wet and dry materials in a variety of techniques, such as pencil, pastel, charcoal, crayons, inks and/or water based paints. You will develop your observational drawing, using line, shading and texture; perspective and composition and work with colour and painting through colour theory and mixing and watercolour and acrylic techniques. Through Still life, landscape and figures you will have the opportunity to develop your own personal style and interests.
This course is a total of 10 guided learning hours of theory and practice, where you will learn to create a least two landscape paintings of substantial quality.
You will start off by researching and creating images to transfer to your landscape, using a traditional scaling and drawing method and learn to use colour and tone by producing your own individual palette appropriate to your subject matter.
You will then be able to experiment with mixing, blending, application methods, techniques and styles of acrylic.
In between, we will examine and discuss the nature and range of landscape painters and some historical periods i.e. French Impressionism.
