There are surprisingly few flowers which are blue in colour, yet they make wonderful subjects to draw and paint. This course is about learning to create botanical illustrations of blue flowering plants in watercolour. There will be an emphasis on drawing with precision and accuracy, including observational drawing of botanical structures, the science of botany, composition skills, and using watercolour painting techniques suitable for botanical illustration.FIND OUT MORE
This course will be based at The Drill, Horsham.
Weather permitting*, we will be working outside, sketching in The Causeway, a short walk away.
You will be shown how to select a view of a building, ways to measure the proportions and how to get started with your drawing.
You can choose to draw with pencil or a technical waterproof pen and will be shown how to produce a range of tones and textures appropriate for the subject
You will watch a demonstration of how to add watercolour washes to complete your project.

Want to learn how to code?. Learning to code HTML and CSS is the easiest way to get into coding. You can progress quickly and build up a good basic knowledge within a day.
In this course we are going to learn the basics of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language is the standard markup language for creating web pages) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets is a style sheet language used for describing the presentation of a document written in a markup language like HTML).
We are going to create webpages and interlink them using HTML code.
Then we are going to use CSS to style (format) the webpages we have created.
Also we will have an introduction into CMS (Content management system manages the creation and modification of digital content such as websites). Many companies use a CMS for creating and maintaining their websites.
By the end of the course, students will have created a website containing multiple webpages with text, pictures and hyperlinks by using HTML and CSS
