11:00 - 13:30
2.5 hours x 10 sessions
This is essentially, a Fine Art course. Students will learn how to creatively process the journey in producing artworks through Research, Investigation and Experimentation which will lead to a ‘final’ artwork; finished piece. The course is designed to encourage independence and initiative in creative decision-making. Responding to a theme, students will develop ideas and produce artwork where the genre, subject matter, focus, media and techniques will be directed by the individual student; driven by their chosen creative process. On the journey, students will learn how to focus research and investigation, ways of experimenting creatively and how to analyse and evaluate the work of artists and in turn, their own artwork. Students will learn how to fully develop the potential of an artwork and to execute it to a high standard.
Students will start the course by developing and extending their visual and technical skills using a wide range of [mostly familiar] drawing and painting techniques. This will be in the form of an abstract artwork.
