What is the course about?
In the instance of a Government imposed lockdown, this course will pause until it is able to begin again. No refunds will be made due to a Government imposed lockdown.
Learn how to draw at your own pace with a variety of drawing & painting mediums and techniques such as pencil, pastel, charcoal, crayons, and water based paints. Using a combination of observational, systematic and imaginative processes, you will learn how to use composition, colour, tone, line, form, texture and pattern to help you gain greater confidence, control and enjoyment in what you create. Culminating in a final project, you will have the opportunity to develop your own personal style and interests.No experience is needed, students of all abilities and levels of experience are welcome, a desire to try different approaches to problems would be advantageous.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This is a beginner’s course, so you do not need to have any previous experience although those with previous experience who want to continue to hone and build upon their skills and vision, where everyone is welcome to work in a sociable supportive group environment.
What do I need to bring with me?
As we will start with Drawing,: A4/A3 Sketchbook, a range of pencils B grades (2B, 3B, 4B), Charcoal sticks to get us started. Your tutor will give you plenty of support and advice as to which materials you might like to explore on the course during week one.
Are there any additional costs?
Your tutor will signpost you to places where you can purchase art materials that are affordable and/or specific. The basic art materials for both drawing and painting to get you started will cost in the region of £20 in total.
