What is the course about?
This course will guide you through the different acrylic techniques you can use to paint portraits with impact. You will learn how to construct the face using tonal values and how to map out the form of the face generally before refining details. We will be looking at the work and palettes of well-known past/present portrait artists and emphasis will be placed on capturing personality. Demonstrations will be given on brushwork, artistic licence, how to paint features, panting hair and skin tone colour mixing.
In the instance of a Government imposed lockdown, this course will pause until it is able to begin again. No refunds will be made due to a Government imposed lockdown.
Face masks must be warn when entering the building, but may be removed once the course begins. Please bring your own refreshments.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
You do not need any prior knowledge or experience to attend this course
What do I need to bring with me?
Acrylic paints – system three sets work well Brushes (long handled) – half inch flbert, medium round, rigger. Graduate soft brushes are very cheap and good quality Acrylic paper, canvas or canvas board. Cost to student, approx. £40
