The costs quoted in the brochures cover tuition fees, exam entry fees and some additional costs. You will need to provide any equipment or books needed to undertake your studies or pay for any visits that are arranged as part of your course.
We understand that for many people, the cost of the course can be a barrier to getting back in to education, whether it is to gain a qualification or skill needed to get back in to work or for your own personal development. However, you may qualify to receive a concession or financial support to help with tuition fees, childcare and travel costs. In some cases, you will be eligible to free tuition.
Some of our courses attract a Government subsidy, these are clearly identified in our brochure. Aspire Sussex reserves the right to increase fees in the future in line with the government’s funding authorities’ guidance.
For more information on any concessions or funding that you may be eligible for, please look at our pages on Community Learning courses (courses for your enjoyment and personal development) and Qualification and Work Related Skills courses (including ESOL).
Below you’ll find some our most frequently asked questions. If you cannot find the answer to your question here, please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 0345 601 0161.
The fee on our website shows the overall fee for a course; this includes tuition fees, exam entry fees and any additional costs. Learners will be expected to provide books or materials where appropriate.
However, if you are eligible for a concession, you will receive a discount on your tuition fee. Any additional fees will be clearly displayed on the Course Information page of any given course.
Please note some course fees are subsidised by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and are only available to those who are eligible. If you have any questions please contact us on 0345 601 0161.
Our courses are generally open to everyone, regardless of their experience or expertise, provided the learner is aged nineteen years or over on the start date of the course.
Our courses are generally open to everyone, regardless of their experience or expertise, provided the learner is aged nineteen years or over on the start date of the course. Some of our courses are only open to West Sussex residents, please enquire if you are outside of West Sussex and would like to join a course.
Some of our courses will require an assessment before enrolment. This is not something to be daunted by; it is more a check that the course is a suitable level for you and an opportunity for you to meet the tutors before the course begins. You will be advised if this applies to your course.
We reserve the right to refuse an enrolment for any reason.
Most of our courses follow an academic calendar, which has set term dates – much like schools, colleges and universities do. To view our term dates, please click here.
If you’re not sure whether these affect your class, please call us on 0345 601 0161 to confirm the dates for your course.
Talk to us about your needs when you enrol or at any stage during the course and we will do our best to help.
Learner Support funding may be available to help some students who may be discouraged from joining a course for financial reasons. Please visit our Student Support page or call 0345 601 0161 for more information.

With a turnover in excess of £4million and thousands of students each year, Aspire Sussex is an award-winning enterprise offering life-changing learning opportunities for adults in their local communities. As such, we are always looking for people who can help move us forward.
We believe that everyone should be treated fairly and equally. If you feel that you have not been treated as such, you can speak in confidence to your tutor or any of our team in our centres.

An administrative charge of £12.50 will be deducted from the refund. After that time, only requests for refunds as a result of your ill health will be considered. This must be supported by a certificate from your doctor and an administrative charge of £12.50 will be deducted from the refund.
These refunds will be calculated from the date your request is received by the Finance Team.
Cancellation and refund requests must be made by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or letter to The Finance Team, Aspire Sussex Ltd, Chichester Adult Education Centre, Kingsham Road, Chichester, PO19 8AL.
