What is the course about?

To improve a student’s Maths skills and provide a solid basis for progression on to a Functional Skills course.

Your Aspire programme of learning includes this subject specific Maths course and the subsequent Functional Skills Maths course which will prepare you more specifically for your Functional Skills exams in summer 2023. You will automatically be enrolled on both elements of your study programme and need take no further action.

What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?

You will need to attend an assessment and interview, after which you will be offered a place on the particular course most suited to your needs.

What do I need to bring with me?

You will need a folder to keep your work in and a pen, a pencil, a ruler, some paper and a simple calculator.

Are there any additional costs?

A simple calculator (not necessarily a scientific version) and a protractor is also needed for parts of the course.
