What is the course about?
In the instance of a Government imposed lockdown, this course will pause until it is able to begin again. No refunds will be made due to a Government imposed lockdown.
The aim of the workshop is to make some wired sugar flowers, buds and leaves and tape into a spray suitable for use on a Wedding Cake. We will be making a beautiful large Rose and buds onto polystyrene centres. We will also make some Tuberose flowers and buds. We will look at different foliage and discuss colours that can be used and make some Ruscus leaves.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This course is suitable for those who have a little experience in making sugar flowers or those that wish to extend their skills. No qualifications are necessary.
What do I need to bring with me?
Small Non-stick rolling pin (tutor will have one to borrow)
Non stick board or other board to roll out on (you can roll out on the worktop)
Small Palette knife
Ball/bone tool (tutor will have one to borrow)
Soft foam modelling pad (tutor will have one to borrow)
Paper covered Flower wires (24g/26g green & 26g/28g white)
Petal dusts/powder (in your choosen colour and yellow and green)
Rose Petal cutters (tutor will have to borrow)
Small 6 petal pointed blossom cutter (tutor will have to borrow)
Small 5 petal blossom cutter (tutor will have to borrow)
Corn or the Cob veiner (tutor will have one to borrow)
Ruscus leaf cutter or template will be provided
Bunch of Yellow or white stamens – medium size
Flat tip paintbrushes
Small amount Cornflour
Small piece of Foil
Cutting wheel or sharp knife to cut out shapes
Green floristry non shiny tape
Small pair of scissors & wire cutters & small pliers
Block of oasis covered in cling film
Flower paste – either squires florist paste or Platinum Flower Paste (white & green)
Cardboard box to take flower spray home
Lunch & drink
