The aim of the course is to develop basic communication skills in practical situations for students who intend to use the language on holiday or for work. The emphasis will be on developing your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Topics could include: family information, describing yourself and other people, shopping, and holidays and travel.
All lessons will have learning aims which the tutor will share with you and they will track how you are progressing throughout the course and keep you informed.
The structure of the language is introduced through everyday topics and practical situations; you will also gain an insight into the culture and customs of the country.

The course aims to introduce you to Ancient Greek and its structure, to increase your appreciation of Greek words still used today and to provide insight into some aspects of life in Ancient Greece. You will be introduced to the Ancient Greek alphabet (reading & writing) and basic vocabulary. Additionally, the aim of the course is to offer students an opportunity to get a taste of the greatest works of Greek Literature. Finally, students will learn to use Ancient Greek as a real, living language and are encouraged to converse in Greek!
The course will cover the ancient Greek alphabet, the ancient Greek accent, the basic structure of ancient Greek sentences, building to an ability to read and translate short passages. Moreover, the course will present an overview of major works of Greek Literature and History.
