What is the course about?
This course will cover a wide range of postures to increase flexibility, strength and overall body awareness. The warm up that is included in every session will enable you to mobilise your joints. Special breathing techniques will also be taught to focus on improving the breathing, while the mind Yoga philosophy will be an integral part of each class adding to the overall understanding of the practice of Yoga.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This course welcomes new learners and is suitable for learners of all abilities including those with no experience. This course also looks to support those who are looking to improve and maintain a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and exercise. Yoga is non-competitive and you will be able to work at your own level, whether as an absolute beginner or a more experienced learner.
What do I need to bring with me?
For this course, you will need; appropriate clothing for exercise, a bottle of water, a non-slip mat, a block or a cushion, a blanket for relaxation.
We recommend that you should always seek the advice of a GP before taking up physical activity or vigorous exercise. Should you feel it necessary to share relevant details of your medical history with your tutor, please ask them for a health check form and complete it as soon as possible. This form will not be copied, or the information on it, be transferred to any other document and will be shredded at the end of the course.
