What is the course about?
You will learn how to create in a wide variety of forms, understanding the power of visual communication to convey ideas and concepts through images. You will learn how to use drawing, typography, collage, mixed media, and painting to communicate your ideas, emotions, and narratives through images. You will explore many different skills and techniques used by visual communicators working in industries such as art, graphic design, illustration, and publications.
The course will look at how to use composition, colour theory, visual narrative, layout, typography, and mixed media to create ways to communicate through images. This course aims to allow you the space to create using a variety of mediums and materials supporting you to experiment and develop your own visual communication style and creative voice.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This course a mixed ability course, suitable for beginners and those with more experience
that wants to refine and stretch their skills.
What do I need to bring with me?
Essential equipment and materials needed are:
Sketchbook, colouring pencils, scissors, fine liner, a range of H and B pencils, watercolours, and inks.
