3 hours x 20 sessions
What is the course about?
This course is a nationally recognised qualification and will enable the learner to develop the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in schools. It provides the opportunity to demonstrate performance and underpinning knowledge and can be undertaken by employed staff and volunteers. It is either a progression from the Award in Support Work in Schools or can be taken as a qualification incorporating the Award units.
You will require confirmation from a school to support you in a voluntary placement. You would be required to volunteer for a minimum of 6 hours per week.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
You will need an acceptable level of English to complete the assessments on the course; we will assess this, so we can provide appropriate support for you.
Are there any additional costs?
We include the exam board registration and certification fee in the course fee.
Please ask about help we may be able to provide with funding the course, according to your personal circumstances.
We recommend a text book but this is not essential. Details of this will be given on the first session.
