What is the course about?
The aim of this short course is to make a small spray of sugar flowers, buds & leaves. You will learn the techniques and gain an insight into making, dusting and taping a small spray of Evening Primrose flowers from sugar florist paste.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This course is suitable for those that have some experience with sugar flowers as well as those who want to extend their skills. No qualifications are necessary.
What do I need to bring with me?
Small Non-stick rolling pin (tutor will have one to borrow)
Non stick board or other board to roll out on (you can roll out on the worktop)
Small Palette knife
Ball/bone tool (tutor will have one to borrow)
Soft foam modelling pad (tutor will have one to borrow)
Cutting wheel or sharp knife to cut paste
Paper covered Flower wires (26g green & 26g white)
Alstroemeria petal cutter (only if you have one – there will be a template)
Petal dusts/powder (in red, green and yellow)
Flat tip paintbrushes (tutor will have one to borrow)
Small amount Cornflour
Small piece of Foil
Small pair of scissors & wire cutters & small pliers
Block of oasis covered in cling film
Flower paste – either squires florist paste or other make
Cardboard box to take flower spray home
NOTE: Items available from sugarcraft stores or internet.
