What is the course about?
On this course students will learn the techniques and develop skills that you need to make sugar flowers and leaves onto wires from florist paste. To include a Rose, Rose leaves, different types of berries, Freesia, foliage and an Orchid. You will also dust the flowers & foliage and tape the flowers into a spray.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This course is suitable for those that have no experience with sugar flowers as well as those who have a little knowledge. No qualifications are necessary.
What do I need to bring with me?
Small Non-stick rolling pin (tutor will have one to borrow)
Non stick board or other board to roll out on (you can roll out on the table)
Small Palette knife
Ball/bone tool (tutor will have one to borrow)
Soft foam modelling pad (tutor will have one to borrow)
Cutting wheel or sharp knife to cut paste
Paper covered Flower wires (26g green & 26g white)
Rose petal cutter (there will be a template to use)
Paintbrush (tutor will have one to borrow)
Small amount Cornflour
Small pair of scissors (nail scissors) & wire cutters or strong scissors
Block of flower oasis (covered in cling film)
Flower paste – Squires florist paste (white & green) or other make of Flower paste
Cardboard box to take flower spray home
NOTE: Items available from sugarcraft stores or internet.
