What is the course about?
In the instance of a Government imposed lockdown, this course will pause until it is able to begin again. No refunds will be made due to a Government imposed lockdown. This course will introduce students to the beautiful colour, light and painting techniques of the Impressionists focusing on the subject of flowers and foliage. Students will be shown how to use acrylic, colour mix, build up layers of paint, understand tonal value and develop a loose, expressive approach to their work. We will be discussing the works and life of the most important Impressionist painters as well as those less well known and there will be tutor led demonstrations throughout the course as well as one to one tuition with personal projects.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
No experience is necessary - course is for beginners and those with some experience
What do I need to bring with me?
Acrylics, painting surface such as canvas board, acrylic paper, canvas.
Brushes – graduate are good. Medium round, small round, large round if painting on larger surface. Flat brushes if preferred.
Palette. The Works sell disposable sheets for £2
Kitchen roll or cloth.
