This course is a Learning for Work course and will provide you with the opportunity to learn skills such as:
Creating a Word Document
Saving a Document
Printing Word documents
Use formatting to improve the look of a Word document (font, size, colour and bold)
Use more advanced formatting (alignment, bullet points, borders and headings)
Use the spelling and Grammar Checker
Typical activities for this course
Create a folder
Creating a professional letter in Word, using alignment and spacing function
Edit and improve a Word document
Creating a CV in Word
Creating an attractive poster in Word, using more advance formatting skills
Discussing what makes a good CV and how to document skills on CV
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This course is for someone who has completed a Computer First Steps course or Computers for beginners course, alternatively you must have some experience and confidence using a computer and be able to turn it off and on, use the keyboard, mouse, and touchpad. This is a great refresher course for people wanting to return to work after a career break.
