What is the course about?
The course will prepare students for the AQA New GCSE Mathematics exams at Foundation Level to be taken in summer 2019. It is suitable for students aiming to achieve up to Grade 5.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
All students must attend for an assessment and interview to determine suitability for the course. Some students will be offered places conditional on successful completion of a Preparation course.
What do I need to bring with me?
Initially students will need a folder with paper, pen, pencil, ruler and scientific calculator. For later sessions graph paper and a geometry set are needed.
Are there any additional costs?
The course uses the following text book: Oxford University Press. AQA GCSE Maths. Foundation Student Book. ISBN 978-0-19-835165-8. The recommended scientific calculator is: CASIO fx83 GT plus.
What can I do next?
GCSE maths is a requirement for progression on to many further and higher education courses. GCSE maths is widely recognised and valued by employers.
