What is the course about?
The course is about developing technical skills of baking with relevant practical activities such as making a Swiss roll, making scones and a Bakewell tart. This will enhance the knowledge and understanding of the science behind baking and gluten.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
You will be able to work reasonably at your own pace, individually and have the ability to multitask.
It is for anyone with some cooking knowledge who wishes to learn some exciting new recipes.
You should have enthusiasm, patience and a keen interest in cookery.
What do I need to bring with me?
Your own ingredients and the recipes will be provided for the session;
Tea towel & apron; measuring spoons if you have them; some cling film; foil and greaseproof paper may be needed.
Your own Sharp knife; mug /glass and beverages.
Containers to transport your dishes home and for left over products;
NB: we are using a school facility that may have basic utensils, feel free to use your own to avoid disappointments.
Are there any additional costs?
For anything the tutor provides there will be a small charge.
