What is the course about?
In the instance of a Government imposed lockdown, this course will pause until it is able to begin again. No refunds will be made due to a Government imposed lockdown.
The course will enable you to develop the language skills needed to understand and formulate complex ideas and opinions in factual and literary texts, or in talks on unfamiliar themes. The emphasis will be on developing your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills as well as understanding of the rules of the language. The structure of the language is introduced through everyday topics and practical situations; you will also gain an insight into the culture and customs of the country. Topics could include: current affairs and newspaper articles, the media, social and political issues and literature –poetry, prose and drama.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This is the follow-on of a pre-established class that welcomes new learners. You may have an A2 qualification or have progressed from a Level 4 course. If you are unsure of your level, please contact us and ask to speak to the tutor for further assistance. Diagnostic self-assessment sheets are available from our centres and on our website.
What do I need to bring with me?
Pen and paper. At the first session your tutor will discuss with you the purchase of a suitable dictionary and textbook.
