What is the course about?
This is a free online taster course for families with children over the age of 5, where you will have the chance to work together or individually side-by-side on an English Paper Piecing craft project. English Paper Piecing is a popular craft for reusing and recycling old fabrics, where you fold fabric over a template shape and then hand sew these shapes together to create your finished item.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
You don't need any previous sewing experience to attend these sessions, so please come along and enjoy some family learning together with us.
What do I need to bring with me?
To take part in this session, you will need to have a few items ready to hand:
Template - will be emailed to you after you have enrolled, for you to print out. We can also post these out if you don't have access to a printer.
Fabrics of choice - 100% cotton is best, can be new or any scraps that are interesting
Scissors - to cut out the paper templates and trim fabrics, then to snip threads
Needle and thread, any colour for basting and sewing together
