What is the course about?

This is a Learning for Personal Interest course.
This is a course for those students who would like to sample and explore a wide range of drawing and painting techniques. You will be able to develop your representational skills or create abstracts, using both wet and dry materials in a variety of techniques, including pencil, pastel, charcoal, inks and/or water based paints , working with your own choices.

What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?

This is a beginner’s course, so you do not need to have any previous experience in painting. Those with painting experience are also welcome!

What do I need to bring with me?

Essential basic equipment and materials needed are:
• A4/A3 Sketchbook, or sheets of thick cartridge or water colour paper
• A range of paints including - water colours and acrylics.
• You will need basic painting equipment; pallet (this could be an empty container), paintbrushes in pointed, flat and round sizes in as many sizes as you like.
• An apron and gloves if appropriate.
