What is the course about?
In the instance of a Government imposed lockdown, this course will pause until it is able to begin again. No refunds will be made due to a Government imposed lockdown
The aim of the workshop is to learn, practice and develop your intermediate cake decorating skills. We will practise different techniques to decorate your cake to include: side designs, frilling & textures, how to get pictures onto cakes using painting and sugarpaste, looking at cutters available for letter & side design, piping with royal icing & simple sugar blossoms.
What previous experience, knowledge or qualifications do I need for this course?
This workshop is suitable if you have some experience in cake decorating and want to develop your skills to the next level. No qualifications are necessary.
What do I need to bring with me?
A square cake or dummy (any size) covered in sugarpaste (we will use the sides to create different designs on each one) on a board in a box.
1 x 6” thin cake board
250g pack of coloured sugarpaste (your fav colour)
250g pack of white sugarpaste
Tub of royal icing (available from Tesco/Sainsbury or hand made)
250g pack of sugar/modelling paste (available from Tesco/Sainsbury or other make)
Any flower cutters that you may have (there will be some to borrow)
Small non stick Rolling pin (available to borrow)
Icing sugar in sifter
Paste food colours
A few paintbrushes (thin & wide)
Box to take home work
Cloth & tea towel or wipes to clean surface
Lunch & a drink
NOTE: Items available from sugarcraft stores/supermarket/Lakeland or the internet.
