Trustees needed now for ambitious new mutual in West Sussex

Aspire Sussex is a trailblazing company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. Its purpose is to provide vibrant adult education of the highest quality, to benefit individuals and communities, focussing resource on those with particular needs who might otherwise be left behind. All staff are associate members and Aspire Sussex is the first adult education service to spin out of Local Authority control into a mutual.

Highly commended at the Philip Baxendale Employee Ownership Awards 2013 for Public Service Mutual of the Year and Outstanding Leadership, this innovative company is seeking new Trustees to help develop its business. With a turnover of just over £4million, funded by grants and income generated from fees, Aspire Sussex is looking to grow new business opportunities that will enable this innovative organisation to prosper.

Aspire Sussex is looking to recruit motivated Trustees to join the current Board. Individuals are sought who are passionate about sustaining adult education in the community, can support a culture of employee ownership and provide challenge, in addition to being a champion for the business. These roles are on a voluntary, part-time basis, but expenses will be paid including the cost of paying for child/elder care and travel.

Individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas are invited to express an interest in this unique opportunity to be part of a great team leading an exciting new mutual:
